Welcome
to Communications 12.
This is
the self-paced version of Communications 12.
(There
is also a class available which you can join throughout the year. Please talk
to a teacher if you are interested in a class.)
Prerequisite: Pass the Pre-Credit Course Assessment or English 10
Materials:
1.
The
following books are rented:
a) Evergreen: A Guide to
Writing
b) A novel (which you
will get later)
2.
There
are 10 units in Communications 12. Self-paced students get their assignments
from the PALC website: (www.newwestadultlearning.ca) Choose "Adult Learning Centre site" (on the left side of the page); Choose “Courses”; “English”;
“Communications 12 Self-Paced”.
3.
Short
stories, some poems, and letter writing are found on the computers in the Computer Lab not on the web. Ask your
teacher for help.
4.
You
will provide a binder and paper. All
assignments should be kept in a neat and orderly fashion to receive credit for
completion of the course.
5.
Page
numbers are given for all editions of Evergreen: A Guide to Writing. Do only the assignments for the edition
that you have rented.
